Individual Registration 2020

Dear All

A sincere thank you to those who completed the Registration questionnaire and sent it back to Squash South Africa. Of those who replied all were in favour of a 100% registration in 2020 for the Growthpoint Interprovincial and SACD/Festival, as well as Junior IPT’s and Masters IPT’s.

The 2019 registrations enabled Squash South Africa to do the following:

As stated in 2015, all the funding raised by the individual Registration Scheme has been used for the benefit of the players.

In 2020 additional events will be the World Masters in Poland as well as the World Universities Championships. Squash South Africa has made contributions to both these events when there has been funding.

For 2020 there has been no increase in the cost of the Individual Registration which remains at R120.00 for ALL junior, senior and masters players participating in league and tournaments throughout South Africa.

The Squash SA registration is an annual registration system so all players must renew their registration each year – 1st January 2020 to 31st December 2020. The registration number remains the same. Should the player not renew, the system will not capture the player’s results and players will not be eligible to play tournaments or any form of league.

Therefore: A valid registered player is one, who is in good standing i.e. the registration fee of R120 has been paid for the current year AND one must be registered to play in sanctioned tournaments and leagues.

Leagues includes: provincial, district, regional, friendly, interschool, interclub where there is an official schedule of matches: results are collated and there is usually a prizegiving at the end of the league.

Tournaments are all official sanctioned tournaments on the Squash South Africa calendar. With tournament organisers placing their tournament and league results on Sporty HQ, Individual entries will be validated by the system.

All provinces need to have the players’ registration number on league and tournament results.

Deadline dates:
Juniors need to be registered by 31st January 2020.
Please note: Under 11 players do not pay the fee, but Squash South Africa needs all their details.

Senior and Masters players must be registered by 31st March 2020

Five important aspects:
• Squash South Africa is building a valuable database and can communicate directly with the players.
• Sport, Arts and Culture and SASCOC require factual statistics regarding numbers, demographics, gender etc.
• With actual numbers, one can provide prospective sponsors with the real activity taking place around the country.
• Squash South Africa will have a national ranking system.
• With the funding raised, Squash South Africa can assist more players to participate internationally.

If every player registers much more can be done regarding capacity building (coaching, refereeing, administration in all the regions: camps for junior and senior players) and Squash will only grow and the standard will flourish.

Should any club need assistance with the bulk registration please contact Jacqui Fryer – and she will be able to assist.
